As a US Alpine Ski team alum, avid trail runner and Doctor of Physical Therapy, I have learned from my experiences that many athletes - recreational to elite - lack basic biomechanical knowledge that can prevent common injuries.
To reach my fellow ski racing community, the person running down your street, whomever is summiting the closest peak and anyone who keeps moving to stay healthy. To educate through lectures and labs on important biomechanics, common injuries and how to become aware of your bodies posture as it moves. You may be very coordinated and excel at your sport, but do you know where or why your knee should be in a certain alignment relative to the rest of your body? Do you care?
Who is this for?
Running clubs, ski teams, individuals, a group of like-minded friends, high school or college age sports team. I have partnered with a fellow DPT and yoga instructor, Lindsay Mayock, to use lecture and lab to teach injury prevention. Lindsay and I run Backcountry Bliss Retreats together. And we collaborated with Laney & Lu Cafe where we lectured, trail ran and drank smoothies. It can be anything we want it to be. Please contact me for more details.
